More information about Christopher Hitchens (from Wikipedia): Christopher Eric Hitchens (born April 13, 1949, in Portsmouth, England) is an Anglo-American author, journalist and literary critic. Currently living in Washington, D.C., he has been a columnist at Vanity Fair, The Nation, Slate and Free Inquiry; additionally, he is an occasional contributor to other publications and has appeared regularly in the Wall Street Journal. His brother is British journalist Peter Hitchens. Hitchens is known for his iconoclasm, anti-clericalism, atheism, antitheism, anti-fascism and anti-monarchism. He is also noted for his acerbic wit and his noisy departure from the Anglo-American political left. He was formerly a Trotskyist and a fixture in the left wing publications of Britain and America. But a series of disagreements beginning in the early 1990s led to his resignation from The Nation shortly after the September 11, 2001, attacks. He is also known for his ardent admiration of George Orwell and Thomas Jefferson, and his iconoclastic criticism of Mother Teresa. While Hitchens' idiosyncratic ideas and positions preclude easy classification, he is a vociferous critic of what he describes as "fascism with an Islamic face," and his critics have been known to describe him as a "neoconservative". Hitchens, however, refuses to embrace this designation. In 2004, Hitchens stated that neoconservative support for US intervention in Bosnia and Iraq convinced him that he was "on the same side as the neo-conservatives" when it came to contemporary foreign policy issues. He has also been known to refer to his association with "temporary neocon allies". Hitchens no longer considers himself a Trotskyist or a socialist; yet he maintains that his political views have not changed significantly. He points out that, throughout his career, he has been both an atheist and an antitheist, and that he has always remained a believer in the Enlightenment values of secularism, humanism and reason. Hitchens has launched a detailed attack on Religion in his book god Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything. He has also stated that, while he "was very much in rebellion against the state" during his youth, he is now "much more inclined to stress... issues of individual liberty." Just in time for Yom Kippur comes a reminder of what a world-class ganef Sean "Shonde" Hannity is. On Sunday, Hannity ran a "special report" entitled "Barack Obama: History of Radicalism," in which he presented, as a credible resource, at least one gentleman with a radical history of his own. We speak of Andy Martin: peripatetic electoral also-ran, self-styled "consumer advocate" from a parallel universe in which evil consumer advocates thrive, and one of the few people to earn the label "vexatious litigant" from the Wikipedia. (Side note: "Vexatious Litigants Of The Wikipedia" is my new favorite punk rock band name.) Martin is well-known for bragging about being a pioneer in the field of spitting out cuckoo-nutlog attacks on Barack Obama, but the far more interesting thing about Martin is that he's a dedicated anti-Semite. Ari from Oxdown Gazette has the details: The same Andy Martin who, "...ran as a Democrat for Connecticut's 3rd Congressional District seat under the name "Anthony R. Martin-Trigona," his campaign committee filed papers saying its purpose was to "exterminate Jew power in America and impeach U.S. District Court of Appeals judges in New York City." And that wasn't his only anti-Semitic outburst: In a New York bankruptcy case, he referred to a judge as a "crooked, slimy Jew." During the bankruptcy dispute, he filed a civil-rights lawsuit claiming Jewish bankruptcy judges and lawyers were conspiring to steal his property. He asked a court to bar "any Jew from having anything to do with plaintiff's property." In another motion in the case, he wrote: "I am able to understand how the Holocaust took place, and with every passing day feel less and less sorry that it did, when Jew survivors are operating as a wolf pack to steal my property." How exactly, does this sort of cracked-out wackface make it into a report on someone else's alleged radicalism? In another night of attacking Barack Obama over his associations, Sean Hannity was confronted about his past relationship with white supremacist Hal Turner. First Hannity denied knowing Turner, then he said he had long ago banned Turner from his show. Then, in a tacit admission, Hannity said "I'm not running for president."
Watch Hannity continually interrupt his liberal guest. But when always polite Allen Colmes is replaced by a guest host nearly as aggressive as Hannity Ann Coulter quits giggling at the liberal bashing, get's bent out of shape, and walks off the set!
