California's highest court agreed Wednesday to hear several legal challenges to the state's new ban on same-sex marriage but refused to allow gay couples to resume marrying before it rules. (Nov. 19)

More than 2,000 people protesting California's new ban on gay marriage marched through streets Thursday, snarling rush-hour traffic as hundreds of police officers sought to contain them. The AP's John Mone was there. (Nov. 6)

Is this the sort of behavior we can expect from leftists determined to push their agenda? In the video here, an unruly group of protesters opposed to Proposition 8, the ballot initiative in California approved by voters Nov. 6 that bans gay marriage, not only refuse to allow an elderly woman to speak with the media, they assault her as well. Near the end of the video, they grab her cross, throw it on the ground and stomp it. New World Order minion and California gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger encouraged opponents of the passed proposition not to give up until the measure is overturned. It is unfortunate, obviously, but its not the end, vowed the governor during a CNN interview, because this will go back to the courts. Is it possible Arnie approves of these sort of violent tactics in order to force gay marriage on the people of California who voted against it? http://www.infowars.com

When California voters passed Prop 8 eliminating the right of same sex couples to get married last week, it led to an immediate legal challenge from the ACLU of Northern California and some ironic commentary from Jon Stewart on the Daily Show, both of which I discuss in this video. You can find the entire Daily Show segment from which I took a short clip for my video at http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=209418&title=decision-2008-garygary-unmarried You can find the entire speech James Madison gave when he proposed the amendments that became the Bill of Rights at http://www.jmu.edu/madison/center/main_pages/madison_archives/constit_confed/rights/jmproposal/jmspeech.htm The picture of the James Madison is a flickr photo available under a creative commons license as indictated on the page with the photo at http://www.flickr.com/photos/bootbearwdc/317430199/sizes/o/#cc_license In compliance with that creative commons license, this video may be distributed in accordance with the creative commons license described at http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/ And, finally, you can read the full text legal challenge to the recently passed California Constitutional amendment eliminating the right of same sex couples to get married at http://www.aclunc.org/news/press_releases/asset_upload_file824_7748.pdf

On February 24th, 2004 President George W. Bush announced his support for a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. Three days later in response to the President's words and inspired by events in Massachusetts, Village of New Paltz Mayor, Jason West, began solemnizing same-sex marriages in Upstate NY. Will & Right takes a deeper look into those fighting for equality and the effects it has on individuals, family values and the nation. During the course of shooting this film we were able to meet so many interesting people; People working very hard to gain the same rights and freedoms that other Americans have. Actor/Activist Harvey Fierstein provided an interview as only he can, and many couples welcomed us into their homes to film first hand family life for gay/lesbian couples. Part of the film also captures history in the making as we document the 1st gay marriages in NY State at the Village of New Paltz, cover protests, speakers and the 2004 Pride Parade in NYC. As religion takes a stronger role in American politics I think it is important that people get to see first hand how factoring prejudice into the US Constitution can effect real people, with real families and real love.
